Chairman's Message
Workforce Opportunity Services was founded not only on an idea; rather it was also the result of over four years of my research at Columbia University. After running a special program for those years I examined the lives of over 45 men and women from the Harlem area of New York City. The experience and findings resulted in a published research article that was eventually presented to the American Association of Colleges and Universities. This report provided the causes and solutions for the lack of opportunities afforded our young men and women from low-income communities.

Prudential Financial, a longtime supporter of Workforce Opportunity Services, has spearheaded the nonprofit’s new Veterans initiative, providing career opportunities for more than two dozen veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan war eras.
