Inaugural Veterans Class Graduates from WOS Program
Workforce Opportunity Services’ (WOS) inaugural Veterans cohort was honored in recent ceremonies at Rutgers University-Newark and Prudential to mark their completion of their academic certificate program.
The official graduation dinner ceremony was held on July 13 at Rutgers-Newark. Keynote speakers included John Strangfeld, Chairman and CEO of Prudential, Steven J. Diner, Chancellor of Rutgers-Newark, and Dr. Arthur Langer, Founder and Chairman of WOS.
A second ceremony took place at Prudential on July 18. The event was hosted by Charles Sevola, VP of IT for Prudential and program manager for the WOS Veterans cohort. Barbara Koster, CIO of Prudential, delivered the commencement address, and graduates Ijeoma Ezenwuba and Divjot Singh shared their experiences with the audience of Prudential executives and managers.
The inaugural WOS Veterans program launched in August 2010, with the students embarking in the Rutgers SOAR program in pursuit of a certificate in Application and Software Development. In early June 2011, the Veteran consultants began full-time work at Prudential, where they provide services in areas including development, quality assurance, and project management.
