WOS and Horizon Blue to Launch New Job Training Program in Newark
A new technology incubator is coming to Newark.
WOS and Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey are teaming to provide recent graduates of Newark high schools with the opportunity to launch careers through an innovative training program.
WOS and Horizon have partnered to create a new incubator model to train students in data entry and management, provide consulting opportunities, and continue their technical and professional development.
In early August, more than 30 recent Newark high school graduates enrolled in the job-training program. The students are taking classes at Rutgers University-Newark focused on data entry responsibilities, as well as statistical analysis and principles involved with managing data and information. The students are also taking business writing and project management courses to round out their professional development.
At the end of the 13-week training program, successful candidates will become full-time consultants to Horizon, specializing in data entry and data management. They will begin work in November in WOS’ new technology facility located at 3 Gateway Center in downtown Newark.
This new initiative is the latest partnership between WOS and Horizon. In 2010, WOS trained consultants for Horizon’s quality assurance and healthcare benefits coding departments.
“WOS is thrilled to expand our partnership with Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey,” said WOS Founder and Chairman Dr. Arthur Langer. “There is an untapped pool of talent in Newark. With the help of Horizon, we will continue to train these graduates for fruitful careers and provide them with the skills they need to become productive citizens.”
