WOS Founder, Advisor Presents at Entrepreneurs’ Conference
Dr. Arthur Langer, founder and chairman of Workforce Opportunity Services (WOS), joined Penn State Professor Charles Snow, a member of WOS’ Academic Advisory Board, to speak about the nonprofit's vision at the 2010 Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers Conference.
Their panel, held on Saturday, October 23 at Penn State, focused on how social entrepreneurial organizations can help strengthen their local communities. Langer and Snow used the WOS story to explain how these organizations can use underserved youth as a pipeline for competitive advantage.
Dr. Langer recently presented his vision for alternative workforce staffing at the 2010 Leadership Conference at the Wharton School in June and has spoken at various CIO conferences this year.
"Conferences like these do a great service in advancing the cause of social entrepreneurship," Dr. Langer said. "The more we focus on the opportunities we have to help build strong pipelines of talent and opportunity, the better off we will be as a society."
