New Program Will Train Mechanics/Service Technicians for Positions with United Rentals in Texas

Classes begin June 10, 2013

Workforce Opportunity Services (WOS) will launch a new training program in Irving, TX (near Dallas) for Veterans with service past September 11, 2001. This 15-week program provides training in mechanical and business skills at Universal Technical Institute. Successful candidates will be offered service technician positions at United Rentals branches across Texas.

There is no cost to the Veteran, and accepted candidates will receive a weekly stipend.

Qualified applicants should have basic knowledge in repairing and maintaining diesel engines or HVAC equipment, mechanical aptitude, and knowledge of tools applicable to position. They should also possess the ability to navigate electrical schematics. The ideal candidate will be a team player and have strong interpersonal skills, as well as high levels of leadership and attention to detail. Safety and Customer Service are two core values within United Rentals; therefore, applicants must display both.
