Job Placement Program Benefits Veterans and Military Spouses

Recently, the Fort Bliss Bugle wrote an article about the Prudential-Workforce Opportunity Services VETalent graduation which took place in El Paso, TX on July 12, 2018. Eight veterans and military spouses graduated after completed the coursework which would lay the foundation for transitioning into project management and business analysis roles at Prudential.  Vernon Franklin, a WOS Client Service Manager was quoted, as well as program participants MaiLani Cruz, a military spouse and Renee Purviance, a veteran. 

Below is an excerpt from the article: 

Program graduate veteran Renee Purviance said she struggled with gaining entry into a good career and not just a job when she first got out of the military.

“I think it’s a matter of translating the skills that we have into real-world experience,” Purviance said. “We have leadership experience and we’ve worked on project- type skills, but actually being able to put that into a resume and to communicate that within the civilian world can be very difficult.”
