Workforce Opportunity Services Works to Break the Cycle of Unemployment

mycentraljersey.com and the Home News Tribune (print) published an article recently featured Workforce Opportunity Services (WOS).

The article is divided into two sections. The first half features Dr. Langer's story. Readers learn about his personal journey, how it is that he started WOS. Readers get a clear understanding of what WOS offers its consultants and its corporate partners, such as Prudential, Johnson & Johnson and Covanta. WOS is described as an organization that not only provides job training and job placement but as one that "clears the path" by hiring babysitters, paying health insurance, providing transportation for its program participants.

"It's hard, which is why nobody else has done it," said Dr. Art Langer, founder and chairman of WOS. "It's important to have perseverance, to have confidence and to not take no for an answer."

The second section features a past WOS program participant Donald Dutton is titled "A Success Story." Dutton, a veteran, is quoted saying:

"There's not a lot of transferable skill sets from working as a combat infantryman to working a full-time job."

Dutton shares how his WOS client service manager, revised his resume, coached him in interviews and gave him tips for navigating the corporate world. The story closes with Dutton saying;

"WOS is a great avenue and pipeline where many vets can succeed."
