Technology Product Consultant


The Technology Product Consultant is responsible for optimizing the value proposition. They anticipate issues and/or complications, and respond well to time pressures. This position will require working closely with vendors to plan, build out, support and become intimately familiar with day to day operations of large scale distributed solar assets.

Candidate Profile:

    • Related STEM discipline

Essential Duties:

  • Planning, designing and building IoT platforms for Solar on AWS
  • Familiar with WAN and radio frequency communication protocols and features to build and support IoT assets
  • Agile development of IoT systems and features
  • Leads the effort to select IT Vendors to execute projects and manages on-boarding and collaborative working relationship with selected Vendors
  • Utilize domain specific knowledge to work with client management
  • Applies Agile concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Ensures required change management activities to drive solution adoption take place as necessary
  • Ensures quality through the use of company-approved methodologies
  • Supporting and troubleshooting data center and field device issues to ensure efficient and reliable operation of solar and IoT assets
  • Working with network and security teams to ensure security and resilience of IoT assets
  • Monitoring performance and costs of AWS infrastructure for IoT assets
  • Establishing vendor governance, tracking vendor performance and service level agreements
  • Serves as domain specific Subject Matter Expert for their assigned product line
  • Keeps informed of technical and managerial advances in IT, including leading the introduction of best practice
  • Manages and directs one or more product teams to meet business objectives
  • Works with Clients to deliver business outcomes by executing projects through the Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC)
  • Develops reviews, evaluates and formulates project plans, schedules and budgets
  • Ensures alignment with Clients on scope, value proposition and overall project goals throughout the SDLC. Works with client departments to coordinate systems testing, installation, training and support
  • Identifies and negotiates schedules, milestones and resources required to meet product objectives, primarily through coordinating the activities with other IT departments and Vendors


  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information/Computer Security, Engineering or a related technical discipline
  • Experience managing outsourced vendors and managed contract within the information technology field
  • Able to write software code in both web and client/server environments using the following examples: (must have 2 years of experience in role developing software)
  • Software Languages: Java, .Net,C++, HTML, XML, SQL, VBA, Node.js, Swift
  • Operating Systems: Windows, Linux
  • Relational Databases: SQL Server, DynamoDB, Aurora, Postgres, MongoDB
  • Experience designing graphical user interfaces using graphical design tools (e.g. Photoshop, MS Visio)
  • Experience with mobile app development (iOS, Android)
