FAQ
How do I know if I qualify for WOS? We have a very short but specific list of requirements (hyperlink will go here) for the program. Overall, we are looking for Veterans who are highly motivated, eager to learn, and intensely dedicated. If you possess those qualities, apply here.
Where do I get an application?
Veterans interested in joining an upcoming class are encouraged to apply online.
When does the program begin?
There is no set start date for our programs. When we get new clients, we assess their staffing needs and recruit Veterans accordingly. We always post information about upcoming programs at least a month before the start date on our website and on our Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter pages.
Do I have to sign a contract?
No. There are no contracts or agreements. We hold up our end of the bargain – to train, educate, and help Veterans begin a career in with a corporation. All we ask is that our Veteran students show up on time, submit their homework by deadline, and dedicate their energy to learning new skills.
How does the admissions process work?
Once a Veteran submits an application, he or she will be contacted by Workforce Opportunity Services for a follow-up phone conversation. If we believe there is a fit, we will invite Veterans to a pre-certification session, which typically takes place two nights a week over a three-week period. Attendance is mandatory for these sessions, except for those required to attend training/drill. Performance in the pre-certification will determine acceptance into the program. How big are the classes?
Class size depends on the client's needs. Cohorts have ranged from 15 to 30 students who remain together throughout the entire duration of the program.
When will I be notified if I'm accepted?
Upon completion of the pre-certification period, successful candidates will be notified by a member of the Workforce Opportunity Services team.
Can I re-apply if I don't get accepted?
Yes. We encourage students to re-apply to the program if they are not accepted the first time. Nondisclosure and privacy forms before beginning part-time consulting work at a client site.
