Professional Development Services

Our Employee Coaching & Development Service builds on the concept of individual mentorship.

Our Mentoring Services help facilitate and support the professional growth of others

Workforce Opportunity Services’ (WOS) Employee Coaching & Development Service builds on the concept of individual mentorship. This service allows companies to support certain employees to overcome difficulties by having a WOS advisor available to help them better navigate company culture and improve rapport with their work teams.

External Mentoring Service

Our External Mentoring Service builds on the concept of individual mentorship. Populations that historically face employment issues can be successful if they have the proper guidance and support. These individuals find jobs, but securing them can be challenging. This service allows the company to support an employee as they overcome difficulties by having a WOS advisor on site who helps staff members navigate company culture and develop within their team.

As the relationship between the employee and employer evolves, and the expanded nature of working remotely takes hold, the External Mentoring Service program helps company culture to be more harmonious, improves communication among coworkers, employees, and management, and enhances productivity.

Service Detail

The WOS advisor visits the program participant on-site and/or at the participant’s home, and will focus on these three areas:

Academic Journey:

  • WOS will work with the participants to further their education then identifies fields of study that are a good fit, and assists them in moving forward with their scholastic choice. This includes helping the participant locate an academic institution and working through the admission and financial aid process. Once the participant is enrolled in an academic program, WOS will keep the participant on track through monitoring of assignments and course outcomes.

Professional Development:

  • WOS will work with participants and the company supervisor to identify and remove any professional barriers to success such as gaps in skills/additional interpersonal skills training. WOS may provide some of this training through weekly mentoring sessions, with session content agreed upon by the participant and their sponsoring manager. In the case of training that is required beyond what can be accomplished during the mentoring sessions, WOS will organize additional training.

Life Support:

  • WOS will work with participants to identify and work to remove any personal barriers to success such as transportation, child care, financial issues, etc. Through the External Mentoring Service program, the CSM will have a small monthly budget to address immediate issues faced by the participant. This type of immediate and hands-on approach to pressing issues can lead to program participant success.
