WOS Celebrates Diversity Month

True diversity lies in a workforce that embraces and is representative of people from various backgrounds, cultures, and have different experiences. WOS has been dedicated to bridging the gap between businesses and untapped talent pools. Ever since our inception in 2005, our organization has strived to diversify the workforce through cultivating and developing talent from underserved and underrepresented groups. Through our programs and initiatives, we’ve guided individuals from all walks of life in their career journeys.

By The Numbers

Cultural & Gender Diversity

Research shows that minorities and women are underrepresented across different fields. The term “diversity” is often thrown around in different circles with little action behind it. We bear witness to these trends when tech giants in Silicon Valley unveil diversity reports with stagnant numbers. Our organization has emphasized the importance of hiring individuals from these groups in efforts to give them a fair shot at bettering their careers.

  • 45 percent of individuals that we’ve served have been African-American.
  • 24 percent of program participants have been Latin American.
  • 36 percent of WOS Consultants have been women.

Military Veterans

Diversity isn’t only limited to gender and race; it includes inviting people who bring different life experiences to the table. After serving in the military, many veterans are often faced with several obstacles when trying to seek employment. Several individuals who have served lack the guidance and resources to jumpstart their post-military careers and are unsure about how the skills they’ve garnered in the military are transferable to the corporate realm. The negative stereotypes surrounding veterans that are portrayed in Hollywood also play a role in hindering their career advancement. WOS empowers veterans and aids them in finding a career direction that is suitable. We also encourage business leaders to keep an open mind when recruiting talent.

  • 56 percent of the individuals that WOS has served have been military veterans.

Differences should be celebrated. Our organization will continue to strive to ensure that the underserved and underrepresented have a seat at the table.
