Before he discovered WOS, Ian had just left his job as a mail clerk with hopes to find something better suited for him. Not exactly sure where to go next, he stumbled upon an advertisement for the WOS program in his building. Ian remembers it saying “If you’re interested in getting a job in technology and getting experience and training, come to the pre-cert.” Having dreamt about becoming a computer programmer through high school, Ian showed up to the pre-certification at Columbia University and got accepted into the program after completing numerous evaluations and assignments designed around the specific career opportunity.
Today, Ian is a Media Services Senior Coordinator at Thirteen and says “WOS has had a major impact on my personal life. From supporting all the different ventures I’ve wanted, from helping when I needed financial support… WOS has truly, honestly been a great company to work with and has supported me in everything that I wanted to do.”
