Visual Arts Exploration I

This cost-free Visual Arts Exploration Series is offered to individuals looking to expand their horizon in the arts.

Workforce Opportunity Services (WOS), a leading non-profit organization connecting individuals from underserved populations with transformative career opportunities, has created a cost-free online Visual Arts Workshop aimed at expanding your horizons in the arts.

The Visual Arts Workshop will:

  • Touch on a diverse number of themes such as how artists throughout the years have portrayed themselves via Washington Crossing the Delaware, Self-Portraits, Art and Labor, and New York City.
  • Encourage close analysis of visual artworks while also providing a space for you to practice writing lucidly about your observations and experiences.
  • Introduce you to different artists and their works from a variety of time periods and cultures. It will emphasize the wide range of techniques that artists have relied upon to express themselves and their subjects.

Developed and led by art history expert, Helen Lee.

The workshop is completely free and is provided by Workforce Opportunity Services.

Featured artists include:

  • Pieter Breugel the Elder
  • Dogon People
